My Story
Having grown up with a life-long love of storytelling, Shannon Rainey has made her childhood dreams a reality, and is now an award-winning poet, short story writer, and aspiring novelist.
Her work has appeared in Stillpoint Literary Magazine, The Allegheny Review, Ramifications Art & Literary Magazine, and Alabama’s Best Emerging Poets 2019 by Z Publishing.
She is a recipient of the 2020 Academy of American Poets Award, 2021 Barber Poetry Award, the Alice Wingo Essay Award, and the first ever two-time winner of the Olde Leafe Prize, in 2021 for her poem “Dionaea muscipula” and 2019 for her short story, “Syrinx."
